Cover Image

Hi John

Was wondering if you could use the pic I have sent for the front page at some point? Am sure there are more deserving pics but it is worth a try………

Regards

Tony Covello

You passed the photo on your way in, Tony made it to the cover. I liked the contrast of the blue of the bike against all that green.

Model History

Hi,

Whilst browsing your site (pretty much the only decent SV650 site I've found yet), I noticed you state "No UK News yet" for the K6 (2006) model. I've just purchased the SV650S-K6, in blue, which is a point, the suzuki provided picture is a little too light - the bike is actually a darker blue. The actual colour is something between the SV650S-K5 blue and the new K6 picture.
(yep sorry about that, at the beginning of the year I was waiting for Suzuki GB to update their website for me to 'borrow' images of the new colours. I got bored waiting and forgot).

I'm by no means a writer, and I'm a novice rider, but if you want information about anything, I'll gladly send what I know. The dealer had one in stock, but had already sold that, so I'm waiting for them to get one in. They assure me they can deliver it to my house for free, and I'm hoping it'll get here by the end of the week, so I can take her out this coming Saturday. If I get her ready for Saturday, I'll gladly take her out & get some decent (depending on my skill with a camera & the weather) photos if you want to use them. Living in the western tip of North Wales proves a good backdrop for most photos. (I always like to see photos, but there has to be a bit more interesting than a bog standard SV parked in a garage. A bog standard SV against a nice background makes a huge difference. I little more text would be useful too)

Oh yea, and the last little thing, most insurance companies had a little giggle whilst I was calling round for insurance, mainly because I'm a novice rider (spent a while on an '86 CG125-BR). They laughed a little more when I said I'd be doing 24,000 miles a year commuting to work & back. Looks like the Suzuki 2 year "unlimited milage" warranty could be in for a little test ride as well...(has anyone managed to get anything from Suzuki on a warranty basis)

Good luck with the new bike Dave.

Canyon Curves

Attached are some pics of a recent ride through the canyons near Mount Charleston, Nevada. Featured is the recent acquisition, an '01 SV650. Just a baby at 1500 miles. Enjoy!

Hi John:

I’m a proud owner of one of the few SV’s existing here in Portugal. I would like to send some pictures to you, but they are a bit heavy. Please try to see what you can do with them. Ifs possible, please put them on the gallery!

I would like to congratulate you guys because I’ve lurn a lot about this great bike on your site!

Best regards from Portugal, and I will send more photos in the future ( smaller ones, I hope!!)

Another top road, José can organise next years rideout ;-) if the one above doesn't work out?

Fitting a ZX10 shock to a mk1 SV

John
Here is a guide I did for someone on the forum. If you wish to use it then feel free...if not, then just delete, I have a copy I can hand out if I see someone in need.

Thanks Andy, now added to the FAQ section here.

July Ramblings

Well someone finally switched the summer on. Everything seemed to change on the 1st of June.  Warm and sunny, no complaints from me.  Problem is that June is always a busy month for me. There's football tournaments, football presentations to plan, PTA stuff at the school and so on. Finding time to ride the bike gets to be a problem at times.

So what's new. Well, the front tyre finally wore out, I was practically down to canvas on the right edge, not so clever on the the odd day that we did have some damp weather.  I've now fitted a Conti Road Attack and I'm dead chuffed with it, the steering and front suspension feel so much better. The tendency for the Dunlop's to make the bike feel that it was falling into a bend has gone, the bike just rolls onto its side in a nice predictable manner. Grip and steering also feel miles better.

With the AR06 only a week a way, I was starting to panic about the route. I did manage to get a test done yesterday (29/6) and plan another tomorrow (1/7) to finalise and memorise it.  Ed, Daryl and I popped into the Old Swan last night. Quite a change since our last visit. The campsite is humming with business and the pub was quite busy. I spoke with the owner about next week and he's cool, just as long as we behave ourselves.

See you all next week. Fingers crossed for the weather.

John
