Also an oem hugger and seat cowl care of a very nice man on the for sale section of the sv forum (cheers lol). All are colour coded candy red. It's also had up rated front springs and oil care of JHS racing, a scottoiler, a front fender extender and a quill end can. Just need a bellypan as maybe a screen to finish, oh and hel hose's. Hi there, Just thought I would send in some info and pics of my sv650s sk2 2003 I've had it for 2 years now and I've covered 20,000 miles and have nearly finished modifying it. So far I've done the following: Suzuki lowers, Suzuki hugger, Fenda Extenda, double bubble, ignition retard mod, mini indicators, Oxford hot grips, 1" JHS racing jack-up link plates, GSXR exhaust mounting flange with link pipe which increases angle of end can (not high level), Carbon Can Co twin exit end can, rear footrests removed, rear grab handle removed, undertray mod (thanks Mervin from sv650.org forum), Scotoiler, Renthal 14 tooth gearbox sprocket (wahaaaaay!), Talon rear sprocket. The only thing I'm waiting on now is the single seat pod. I'm running out of ideas of what to do next plus my missus is getting annoyed because we are meant to be saving! I love the sv650 there aren't many bikes you can modify as much as these on a budget. Kind regards James (Cassius) See www.sv650.tk for more detail on the undertray mod.. |

Mar 1 In some ways the year seems to be flying past and yet Spring seems to be dragging it's heels. Plants are starting to bloom yet it's blooming freezing. We managed miss all the recent blizzards up here in Shropshire but it's brass monkey temps around here. I managed to drag the SV in the garage and it seems in fine order apart from being very dirty. There's some slight furring on the forks but most of that came off with a quick rub. The Sunriser handlebars arrived in the post and they seem well finished, so the first job was to strip off all the bodywork and start removing the current handlebars. The new bars clamp to the existing but shortened bar, so a hacksaw comes into the equation at one point...eek. New brake lines have been installed, in this case I've gone for a two line solution instead of the three line, should have a bit more bite. Most of the effort involved in fitting the new bars involve adjusting them so they clear the fairing and screen, this took some time but everything seems to be working okay. I'll update the SV Restorer article with photos when everything is complete. I should be back on the road by this weekend or the next. The 2005 rideout is still going through it's gestation period. I'd like to thank Jelster and Viney for offering to sort out the route. We're still looking for some input from a local about starting and stoping points, so don't be shy give Jelster and Viney a shout if you can offer a suggestion. The updates on this site are getting fewer and fewer with most people using the forum. From this month I'll hold over articles and produce the page once a month, rather than keep topping it up. So readers only have to look at current month once a month. John |
