7th October - Bike Hut Hi John My name is Chris Malone and I own and run THE BIKE HUT in Bristol which is a breaker and salvage business which started up as a general breakers but has now evolved into a more of a specialist concern. We are currently aiming at the Suzuki SV range the Bandit range and the Yamaha Fazer range with web sites for all showing all parts and prices etc. All can be viewed at www.svspares.com www.banditspares.com www.fazerspares.com Please feel free to visit these sites as feedback is always welcome. Please note that these sites are not yet fully loaded but should be fully up to date by Christmas. The reason for this email is to request a link in your website in relation to the SV's. If you feel this is possible and of benefit to your members and visitors I would be pleased to help in anyway. I can be contacted via this email address, through any of the web sites including www.bikehutbristol.co.uk or by telephone on 01454 228593 pretty much anytime as I normally divert to my mobile when away from the shop. I look forward to hearing from you. All the best. Chris. Chris I used your site quite a bit last year. I was looking for some bodywork for my damaged mk1. I'm more than happy to post a link. |

7th October - SV's in South Africa Hi there John, Always wanted an SV ,and finally got one last year. Have thoroughly enjoyed it! Weather is pretty good here generally( see pic- another crummy day in paradise- heh-heh), and country roads have some really enjoyable sections. If anyone tells you that an SV doesn’t handle, show them pic of my tire. (I didn't include but the right hand side is badly worn. Do you drive on the left in SA? Because my front always wears badly on the right, which I put down to the camber on the road and going round islands clockwise) I was reading in the forum about Kevlar jeans, well guess what? I manufacture Kevlar Jeans! They’re not available in UK as yet, but I am looking to expand and export. My brand is called Razer Riding Gear. Website is not ready yet. I will stay in touch, maybe we can make an SV650 branded jean? (Sounds good to me) Regards Stan Wilson |

7th October - Gearing Hi John, I am not sure if this is a repeat of someone else's note to you. I have an SV650S K2 and was not satisfied with the gearing. With the midrange grunt the bike has and the low first gear I thought going a tooth up on the front might be a good idea. I purchased a 16 tooth SunStar front sprocket and it was an easy install. It made a great difference overall in performance. You can keep the front wheel on the ground in first and it has not seemed to have effected the acceleration. I gained top end and with 6 speeds there was not difference in the mountain roads. The only other mod on the bike is a Scorpion muffler. It will do 135mph with no problem. Disregard this if someone else has made this discovery. Keep up the good work and have fun riding. Larry Peterson www.lpeterson.com |

October Ramblings Bit late getting the page up this month. There's not a lot to post at the moment anyway. The SV is running well, although most mileage has been the slog back and forward to work. September 21st was meant to be a big day. Suzuki were due to make a big announcement about their 2007 models at the Paris bike show. They did but the SV was not one of the models covered. Maybe they'll be something at the UK show? I had my broadband updated in the last few weeks, gone from a slow 512kb to an impressive 6.5mb thanks to ADSL max. Also splashed out on wireless router just to make things a bit more flexible around the house. I have to admit to spending very little time on the forum these days. I tend to login for PM's and to check the moderators corner. Things would be different if I had access from work. I know that TSM has had to move the forum from the original UK server to another and it looks like that's suffering to. He's very capable and I'm sure he'll sort it out. Watch out for the wet leaves.
