29th March 2008 - Used Bike Guide Hi, I found this review in an old UBG (Used Bike Guide) that I've got on my shelf. I checked your Review section and see you hadn't already got it, so here it is. I've attached the 4 pages in two JPG's. Andrew Morris Andrew, thanks for taking the time to do this. Not sure what year this was published, but it makes little difference to the review. Item is now available in the Articles and Reviews section. |

7th March 2008 - Coming to Blighty Greetings, I need some help. I have changed jobs and will be immigrating to the UK early in 2010. I plan to bring my trusty SV with me, it will have relatively low mileage and the company I have joined will assist with all the moving paperwork. Does anyone out there know what all the numbers etc on the SV's VIN mean ? I have traced what some of them mean but am now stumped. Secondly, does anyone have the specs for the UK specced bike. My bike was imported into SA under the Australian manufacturing code (024). I have been assured that the Oz code only differs from the UK code (in manufactured specs) by the speedo calibration, which you will know is easily changed from KM/hr to MP/hr. Regards, Dave Loubser, I've already given some info to Dave but if anyone else can add anything then Dave is on DLoubser@kbcat.com |

6th March 2008 - Spring is in the Air.
Time to start a new page. My SV has been back on the road a few weeks now. I've been commuting to work on it, but only when the weather has been reasonable. I have the option of using a car, so it makes no sense in risking myself or the bike in icy conditions. I did all that for 17 years when I commuted into central London each day. I'm surprised that riding in the winter for all those years hasn't given me long term joint problems (fingers).
Went to the Fireblade launch as couple of weeks ago at my local Honda dealer. I was under whelmed. I'm sure it's a very capable bike but the styling is just awful. Much prefer the chiselled looks of the old bike.
Plans for the 2008 rideout are well underway. I have to say thanks to Fizzwheel, Falc and co for sticking with this given all the grief they've endured. The new plans don't really seem that much different to the original. The costs might seem lower but when you factor everything in it comes out to about the same. I'll be surprised if anyone wants to volunteer to plan next years event. There's a static page on the main site giving all the details, see the menu on the left. I've every confidence it will be a great event.
It occurred to me the other night, that next February will be the 10th Anniversary of the site. So it must also be the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the SV. I'd like to think that Suzuki will do something special to mark the occasion. We'll have to see. An update is long overdue.
Longer days and warmer weather are already creeping in. I'm out of hibernation and grinning like a cat. The car is warm and dry but it will never work its way into my soul like a bike.
John
